Modular LED lamps that turn on when connected to one another. The lamp blocks are primarily table lamps, but can be used anywhere as they do not need to be plugged in.

To develop a table lamp using limited materials. This project was really an opportunity to become familiar with the production process of new product development.

Simple and fun. Our main inspiration was Tetris— besides the shapes, we also used the actions found in Tetris (stacking, connecting) to make the interactions immediately apparent.

Project Manager & Communication Designer — I championed the project, made sure my team had the resources they needed to work, and designed the presentation materials.

1) Built low-fi prototypes
2) Created 3D models in SolidWorks
3) Constructed final acrylic models
4) Combined with electrical components for final product

Fully functional product that runs on 9v batteries, wires, and magnets. When the batteries run out, simply open a panel, replace the battery, and snap the panel back into place.
