My pants is tight!

The purpose of this blog originally was to document my thoughts, feelings, observations, and other mind poops regarding the Italia Field School (pre-trip, trip, post-trip), but will more than likely include items outside of it. So like… eat it. And enjoy.We’re in Week 3 of the Spring 2008 semester, and it’s going alright… for now.

The Italia Field School pre-trip class (IAT 391) is pretty interesting- we’re learning about Roman history at the moment, which is cool. Last week, Kiks and I did a wicked presentation on the Teatro Marcello (Theatre of Marcellus). Unfortunately, we were the last group to go up… which, in most cases, would be awesome, but we had literally five minutes to present (the earlier groups went over their alloted time, etc etc). He said we had a “very thorough” presentation, which is a nice consolation prize.

This week, I’m working with Brad on a presentation about Roman bath houses! I’m pretty stoked about that- how often do you get to research Roman hangouts?! I feel kinda ‘tarded, though, because I haven’t been doing as much research as I should be. I’ll get right on that as soon as I get off work…

Which is where I am right now. I make websites for an educational institution to be unnamed. It’s a pretty sweet job- nice location, great pay, good people. It’s a little drab at times, though, because all I really do is copy and paste documents into web page templates. But I can’t complain- the pay is insane and my co-workers are tres cool. I can’t wait for my shift to end though…

So I can go to Italian language class! Oh my god, Italian is the sweetest language ever! I freakin love the course, mostly because I get to over-pronounce words (aranciata = ah-ran-CHIA-ta = orange soda) and generally act like a goof on purpose! Italian class is, so far, the only class I happily look forward to this semester. It’s like hanging out with your pals and acting like idiots, but you get marked for how ridiculous you sound- it’s so much fun! But enough of this- I have to seriously get down to work. Seriously.
