I am a graduate of the School of Interactive Arts & Technology program at Simon Fraser University, with concentrations in Interaction Design and New Media.
In this program, I was taught to be a generalist— to be able to do a lot of things very well, while specializing in one or more things. I can design, code, facilitate team brainstorm sessions, conduct interviews, do ethnographic research, but I am especially keen on web development and digital film production. What's important is having the "design mindset," a mindset of collaboration, openness, creativity, and process. This, combined with technical knowledge and rigorous design methodologies, can produce some pretty amazing things.
